Norden-Norddeich (NOD / EDWS) is a small general aviation airfield on the North Sea coast of Lower Saxony, positioned approximately 5 km from the ferry terminal at Norddeich Mole — the primary embarkation point for the inhabited East Frisian islands of Norderney, Juist, Baltrum, and Langeoog. The airfield's operational profile is defined almost entirely by its physical constraints: a short paved/grass strip of approximately 900 metres, an elevation of 3 ft above sea level, and no instrument approach procedures. This limits movements to light piston aircraft, small turboprops, and ultralight types. Operators planning to position a Pilatus PC-12 or Piper Meridian should confirm strip condition and available ground clearance in advance; Citation or Phenom-class jets are not operationally compatible with this field.

Emden, the nearest mid-size city, is approximately 25 km west. For passengers requiring a larger aircraft with proper handling infrastructure, Hamburg Airport (HAM) is approximately 180 km south on the A28/A7 corridor — a viable positioning hub for heavy or super-midsize jets when the final leg to the coast is handled by helicopter or ground transfer.
