Bregenz, the Vorarlberg state capital on Lake Constance, is approximately 15 minutes by road. The Swiss cities of St. Gallen and Feldkirch are within 30–40 minutes. For connections into Liechtenstein (Vaduz is 20 km south), HOH provides a closer ground option than Zurich, provided aircraft type and weather permit. The A14 Rheintal motorway provides direct north-south corridor access linking the field to the broader Austria and Swiss Rhine Valley network.

Handling & Customs

Handling at LOIH is managed through the local aero club structure rather than a dedicated FBO in the commercial sense. There is no purpose-built executive terminal or VIP lounge; crew rest and passenger waiting facilities are basic. Ground power, refuelling, and light maintenance are available for GA-class aircraft. Catering coordination requires advance notice and is sourced locally. Operators accustomed to full-service FBO environments — direct ramp access, customs hall, crew car, international catering — should instead consider routing through Friedrichshafen (FDH) across the German border, which offers a longer runway, structured GA handling, and comparable ground transfer times into central Vorarlberg.
