Podgorica Airport (TGD, ICAO: LYPG) functions as Montenegro's main civil and commercial hub, absorbing the bulk of private traffic destined for the capital, the Skadar Lake basin, and the country's interior. Unlike the seasonal coastal fields at Bar or Tivat, TGD operates as a year-round utility airfield, making it the default choice for executive and diplomatic traffic when the Split corridor is not preferred.

Onward road access to the coast (Budva, Bar, Kotor) takes approximately 75–90 minutes depending on mountain road conditions; for coastal-only trips, Montenegro's Tivat Airport (TIV) may be operationally preferable in summer.

Executive Handling

Handling at TGD is provided through the airport's general aviation facility, with customs and border control available on-site. Prior coordination with the handling agent is advised for non-scheduled arrivals, particularly outside standard business hours, to confirm ramp access and customs officer availability. The airport does not carry an independent branded FBO of the Signature or Jetex tier; handling is managed through the airport operator's GA services, supplemented by contracted ground support. For charters transiting the Belgrade corridor or routing toward Athens, TGD is a viable tech stop with adequate fuel infrastructure. Slot coordination is not mandatory for private operations, though PPR notification to the handling agent remains standard practice.
