The Challenger 350 and similar super-midsize jets can operate but may face payload or fuel trade-offs in summer density altitude conditions; winter operations are generally more favourable due to colder, denser air. ILS approaches are available on runway 22, and the surrounding Tatra massif imposes specific arrival and departure procedures that require careful crew briefing — crews unfamiliar with mountain terrain operations should review Jeppesen approach plates and NOTAMs well in advance of the mission. Turbojet noise in the surrounding valley can trigger local community sensitivity; night operations after 22:00 local are discouraged though not formally curfewed.

Poprad is a natural origin point for ski charter circuits linking Central European resorts: typical routing connects TAT with Geneva (for Verbier/Zermatt transfers), Nice (Cannes or Monaco follow-ons), Warsaw Chopin and Vienna. Bratislava-based charter operators frequently position empty-leg aircraft into TAT during peak season, creating cost-effective departure options for clients already in the Tatras. Summer routing focuses on business connections to Prague, Vienna and Budapest for meetings, with same-day return positioning common. For ultra-long-range missions, TAT functions as a tech stop or positioning origin, with the aircraft routing via Frankfurt or Vienna for transatlantic lift.
