The airport's single runway (10/28) stretches 3,500 metres — sufficient for unrestricted operation of Gulfstream G650, Global 7500, Bombardier Global 6500, and Airbus ACJ variants at near-MTOW without payload penalty. Field elevation at 292 ft ASL keeps density altitude calculations entirely negligible across all aircraft categories. H24 customs clearance is available on site, with immigration handling coordinated through the Direction de l'Immigration. Operations are confirmed round-the-clock with no declared noise curfew, which is operationally relevant for transatlantic arrivals from the Americas routing overnight into Dakar.

Transfers & Connections

The standard transfer from DSS to the Plateau or Les Almadies quarters runs approximately 45 to 55 minutes via the VDN expressway and the Dakar-Diamniadio Toll Highway (A1). Traffic conditions at peak hours can extend this to 70 minutes — factor this into block-in time planning for time-sensitive connections. The Diamniadio Integrated Special Economic Zone (DISEZ) lies adjacent to the airport boundary, making DSS the logical arrival point for industrial delegations and government missions. Handling & Customs

Ground handling at DSS is provided primarily by Dakar Handling (DHS), the airport's main handler operating out of the general aviation and business aviation apron areas. A dedicated VIP/VVIP terminal is available for private and charter operations, with private ramp access and crew facilities. Handling quality is assessed at standard tier — functional and internationally compliant, but without the premium FBO infrastructure typical of Casablanca Mohammed V or Dubai. Catering, fuel (Jet A-1 via Total Energies Aviation), and ground transport can be pre-arranged through the handling agent. PPR is not formally required for charter operations, but advance coordination with the handler is strongly recommended for VVIP movements to secure apron positioning and immigration pre-clearance.
