The fastest last mile

The helicopter wins where roads and runways lose

A helicopter charter buys back the hours a car cannot: twenty minutes from the airport to a city-centre helipad, a mountain resort before the lifts open, a yacht at anchor without a tender ride. You pay per flight, for the whole aircraft — no membership, no commitment.

Flyius arranges the flight with certified operators (AOC), the same vetting we apply to every jet: certification, insurance and experienced crews, compared across the network rather than defaulting to a single carrier.

Range and weather rules differ from fixed-wing flying: a helicopter is the right tool below roughly 500 km, in daylight and flyable weather — beyond that, a light jet with a helicopter transfer at each end usually wins. We price both honestly.

Tell us the trip — city pair, resort or yacht position — and your advisor confirms the helicopter class and a firm quote, typically within 2 hours.

When it shines

What people charter helicopters for

Six missions where the rotor beats every alternative.

Airport ↔ city centre

Airport ↔ city centre

Skip the motorway: dedicated helipads put you in the city in minutes — the classic link after a jet leg, luggage transferred airside.

Ski resorts

Ski resorts

Alpine altiports and resort helipads in winter: reach the snow before the transfer buses leave the terminal. Slots are scarce in peak weeks — book the helicopter with the jet.

Events & sport

Events & sport

Grand Prix weekends, finals, festivals: land next to the venue, leave when you decide — while the car parks are still emptying.

Yachts & islands

Yachts & islands

Deck landings where the yacht is certified for it, or the nearest coastal helipad with a tender arranged — the Riviera and the islands are helicopter country.

Business day trips

Business day trips

Two or three sites in a day across a region no airline schedule serves — the cabin is your meeting room between stops.

Scenic flights

Scenic flights

A private flightseeing loop over the coast or the peaks — same certified operators, same safety rules, pure pleasure.

Availability, helipads and weather minima are confirmed per trip by the operator — your advisor checks them before quoting.

Helicopter classes

Which helicopter for your trip

Capacity and comfort scale with the class — your quote names the exact type.

Twin-engine light4–6City helipads, resort transfers, corporate hopsLuggage space stays limited — soft bags

Seat counts are typical, not fixed — actual capacity depends on type, configuration, fuel and weight; the operator confirms per flight.

Heli + jet

The door-to-door combination

Where Flyius is at home: one itinerary, two aircraft, zero friction.

  1. 01

    One quote, both legs

Jet and helicopter are quoted and confirmed together — one advisor, one invoice, one schedule that actually connects.

  2. 02

    Airside transfers

At major FBOs the transfer happens airside: from the jet's steps to the helicopter in minutes, luggage handled for you.

  3. 03

    Timed to your jet

The helicopter waits for your flight, not the reverse — delays on the jet leg reschedule the rotor leg automatically.

  4. 04

    The classic pairings

Nice → Monaco in about 7 minutes, Geneva → Courchevel, London Battersea → Luton or Farnborough: corridors our operators fly daily.

Helipad access and slots (Monaco, Battersea, altiports) are regulated — your advisor secures them as part of the booking.

Questions

Helicopter charter — what travellers ask

How much does it cost to charter a helicopter?

It is priced per flight: helicopter class, flight time, landing fees and any waiting time. Short city transfers sit at the entry level; VIP twins cost several times more. Your quote is firm, itemised and typically ready within 2 hours.

How many passengers can a charter helicopter carry?

Typically 3 to 12 depending on class and configuration — see the class table above. Actual capacity per flight depends on fuel, weight and luggage, confirmed by the operator.

Where can a helicopter land?

Registered helipads, airports and altiports — and private sites where the landowner agrees and regulations allow. City centres (Monaco, London Battersea, Paris Issy) use dedicated, slot-managed helipads your advisor books.

How far can a chartered helicopter fly?

Practical legs run up to roughly 400–500 km; beyond that, refuelling stops erase the time advantage and a light jet plus helicopter transfer usually wins. We compare both options in the quote.

Can I connect a helicopter with my private jet?

Yes — that is our home ground. Both legs are booked as one itinerary: airside transfer at the FBO, luggage handled, and the helicopter timed to the jet's actual arrival.

Single-engine or twin-engine — which will I be offered?

The operator proposes what the route requires: many cities and overwater corridors mandate twin engines, and night or IFR flying narrows the choice further. Where both are possible, you choose between price and cabin.

Are helicopter charters held to the same safety standards?

Yes. Flights are operated by certified operators under their own AOC, with insurance and crew requirements vetted the same way as every Flyius jet flight — we only compare certified carriers.

How far in advance should I book a helicopter?

Simple transfers can often be arranged within a day. Regulated helipads (Monaco, Battersea) and ski-season slots go early — for peak weekends, book the helicopter when you book the jet.
