General aviation operations at BER are handled through a dedicated GAT (General Aviation Terminal) with apron access separate from commercial flow, enabling efficient block-in to transfer sequences. Regarding Berlin-Tempelhof (IATA: THF, ICAO: EDDI): this historic airfield in the heart of Berlin closed to commercial and general aviation in October 2008 and is now a public park and event space. It does not accept flight operations. Private jets departing from or arriving in Berlin must use BER Brandenburg or, for smaller piston and light turboprop traffic, the smaller fields at EDBC (Cochstedt) or EDAY (Strausberg), though neither handles regular business jet operations.
