Private jet passengers can clear customs and immigration on site at the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre, or HKBAC, at Hong Kong International Airport. From landing to your chauffeur

Ask the operator and handler to confirm this sequence for your flight:

• Before departure: provide passenger details through the operator’s agreed secure process, obtain required entry permission and flag goods needing customs attention.
• On arrival: follow the handler’s instructions for disembarkation and reception. Keep travel documents accessible.
• At clearance: present the applicable documents, answer officers’ questions and make any required customs declaration. Keep baggage available for examination.
• After clearance: collect your luggage and meet your chauffeur at the confirmed pickup point.

HKBAC’s immigration estimate is only one part of the arrival. Allow separately for disembarkation, baggage, customs and the onward journey. Entry documents, visas and passenger information

Check the Immigration Department’s requirements for each passenger’s nationality and travel document. Obtain any required visa or entry permit before travelling. Visitors need adequate funds and onward or return tickets unless transiting to mainland China or Macao. Admission remains subject to immigration control. Official visitor requirements

Keep your travel document, applicable entry permission, accommodation or host details and onward itinerary available. For a charter continuation, send the itinerary to the operator for review before departure.

The operator submits Advance Passenger Information, or API, and follows Immigration Department boarding directions. Permission to board does not itself grant admission. Visitors do not need to complete arrival or departure cards. API requirements, Immigration clearance guidance

Some arrangements need particular attention:

• Indian nationals: pre-arrival registration generally applies to visa-free visits, subject to eligibility and exemptions. Successful registrants must carry the printed, signed notification slip with the same valid Indian passport used for registration. Indian-national guidance
• Mainland residents: visits generally require an Exit-entry Permit with the appropriate endorsement. Separate provisions govern qualifying PRC-passport transit journeys. Official entry arrangements
• Taiwan residents: eligible travellers can use pre-arrival registration; eligibility depends on personal circumstances and documents held. Check the applicable arrangements before departure. Taiwan entry guidance

Customs: alcohol, tobacco and sensitive items

Personal duty-free allowances

For arriving passengers aged 18 or above, carrying goods for their own use:

• Alcohol: 1 litre of liquor exceeding 30% alcohol by volume, measured at 20°C. Hong Kong Identity Card holders must also have spent 24 hours or longer outside Hong Kong to qualify for this alcohol concession.
• Tobacco: 19 cigarettes, or 1 cigar or 25 grams of cigars, or 25 grams of other manufactured tobacco. These are alternatives, not cumulative allowances.

Dutiable goods for trade, business or commercial purposes have no duty-free concession. Declare goods exceeding the applicable allowance. Hong Kong Customs: allowances and conditions

Check sensitive items before packing:

• Electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco: importing alternative smoking products is prohibited for passengers entering Hong Kong, including personal-use products. The ordinary tobacco concession does not cover them. Alternative smoking product rules
• Food: fresh or frozen meat and poultry, game, eggs, milk and milk beverages are subject to import controls. Check requirements before bringing food ashore. Customs food guidance
• Medicines, weapons and animal products: check the exact item against official controls. Reasonable quantities of accompanied personal-use medicines may qualify for a licensing exemption; other requirements can still apply. Controlled imports

Declaring an item does not authorise its import. Obtain any required licence, permit or certificate beforehand; declaration cannot make a prohibited import lawful. Prohibited and controlled articles

Currency and bearer negotiable instruments must be declared when their combined value exceeds HK$120,000, including the equivalent in foreign currencies. Choosing the nothing-to-declare channel does not prevent examination. Customs declaration guidance

Where your chauffeur should meet you at HKBAC

Book the transfer specifically to HKBAC, using the address in the table, rather than a commercial-terminal arrivals meeting point.

HKBAC directs passengers and crews through its Terminal Entrance: approach along South Perimeter Road, follow “Business Aviation” signs into the dedicated access lane, complete the security check and proceed through the vehicle gate to the passenger pickup point. Its map marks this location with a blue star. The Pavilion Entrance is listed separately for visitors and tenants. Send dispatch the official access directions and map.

Outside vehicles cannot meet passengers planeside. A representative can greet passengers in HKBAC’s Executive Lounge by prior arrangement. HKBAC reception guidance

Confirm the driver’s name and contact, vehicle and baggage capacity, final destination address and procedure for flight changes. Ask dispatch to estimate road time for the actual pickup and destination, allowing for traffic and clearance.

Flight approvals and commercial connections

Clearance arrangements do not confirm the flight itself. General and business aviation operations require confirmed runway slots, parking and ground handling. HKBAC also identifies a landing-permit requirement for charter flights. Ask the operator to confirm these arrangements in the flight brief. Request a charter with arrival arrangements included
