Operational Profile

MLO operates a single asphalt runway of approximately 1,243 metres, which constrains fleet selection materially. Light jets such as the Phenom 300E and Citation CJ3+ can operate comfortably, but midsize and heavier aircraft are not compatible without a preliminary performance review. Density altitude is negligible at 10 ft elevation. Operating hours are seasonal and restricted; the field does not maintain round-the-clock availability year-round, and H24 flight plans should be confirmed directly with the local handling agent well in advance. PPR is required for private movements, and slot coordination is advisable during the June-to-September peak season when the Cyclades see concentrated charter traffic.

The island has no rail or motorway infrastructure — all onward movement beyond Adamas is by sea or road transfer.

Dedicated general aviation handling is available at MLO through local contracted agents; there is no independently branded FBO on the airfield. Customs availability is subject to seasonal staffing and should not be assumed as walk-up clearance outside core operating months. For arrivals from non-Schengen points of departure, prior coordination with the handling agent for customs pre-notification is essential — unannounced customs requests during off-peak months carry a real risk of refusal or delay. Catering, ground transport, and crew accommodation must be arranged in advance through the handling agent, as on-airfield facilities are basic by design for an island field of this size.
