London is accessible in approximately 90 minutes by car under normal A11/M11 conditions, though for London-bound passengers Farnborough (FAB) or London Luton (LTN) represent operationally simpler alternatives without military access constraints. Stansted Airport (SEN) lies approximately 35 miles to the south and is the nearest commercial hub for onward connections.

Handling & Customs

On-site US Customs and Border Protection is present given the base's function as a USAF installation handling transatlantic military and government traffic. For civil charter operators, customs availability is conditional on access approval and does not operate on a walk-up basis — clearance is by prior arrangement coordinated through base channels. There is no dedicated civilian FBO at Mildenhall; handling for approved civil operations defaults to military base services or contracted military support handlers.
