GlobeAir is an Austrian air-taxi operator based in Linz, flying a single aircraft type: the Cessna Citation Mustang, a very light jet with four passenger seats. With a fleet of around 20 aircraft, the company has taken the opposite bet to the all-category operators — pick one mission profile, the short intra-European sector, and industrialise it. The single-type strategy has concrete effects for the passenger. Every crew is current on the same aircraft, maintenance and spares are standardised across the whole fleet, and the Mustang's low operating cost keeps one-to-two-hour legs competitively priced. Its short-runway performance also opens small airports larger jets cannot use — fields close to Alpine resorts, Mediterranean islands and secondary cities that often sit far nearer the final destination than the region's main hub. The natural fit is two to four passengers on short European hops: a Riviera weekend, a ski transfer, a business day-return between cities with no direct airline link. For those missions, the relevant comparison is rarely a larger jet — it is another light jet, a turboprop, or an empty leg on the same routing.
