Private Jet Charter Corvo (CVU)

Corvo sits at the far western edge of Europe, roughly 2,000 km from mainland Portugal and just 17 km north of Flores. With a permanent population of under 500, it is the least populated municipality in Portugal and one of the most geographically isolated communities in the EU. There are no hotel chains, no corporate headquarters, and no financial district — the draw for UHNWI is precisely the absence of all of that: total environmental seclusion, volcanic caldera landscapes, and access to one of the Atlantic's most pristine ecosystems.

Corvo Airport (LPCR/CVU) operates a single short runway suitable only for light piston aircraft and small turboprops. The airport handles approximately 5,400 movements per year, predominantly inter-island SATA service. Private jet operations are technically possible with the right aircraft type — typically a PC-12 or similar single-engine turboprop — but demand careful pre-flight planning given terrain-induced turbulence, rapidly changing Atlantic weather, and the absence of instrument approach infrastructure comparable to larger Azorean airports. Daylight operations are strongly preferred.

For clients requiring access to Corvo, the operational standard is a positioning flight into Horta (LPHR) on Faial or Lajes (LPLA) on Terceira, followed by an inter-island turboprop or helicopter charter for the final leg. Customs clearance at LPCR is available only by prior arrangement with Portuguese border authorities. No dedicated FBO infrastructure exists on Corvo — ground handling is coordinated through the airport authority directly, with very limited ramp services.
