The Hamptons — encompassing Southampton, East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor and Montauk — form one of the most active private jet micro-markets in North America. Two airports divide the traffic. East Hampton Airport (HTO / KHTO) sits at the heart of the South Fork and is the default choice for the East Hampton, Southampton and Bridgehampton corridors — ramp-to-driveway times of under 20 minutes are standard for clients with estates in those villages. The airport operates under seasonal political pressure and has faced repeated closure threats from the Town of East Hampton, making advance confirmation of operational status essential for any flight planned beyond the current season. Francis S. Gabreski Airport (FOK / KFOK) in Westhampton Beach provides a longer runway (9,000 ft), ILS approaches and a more stable regulatory environment, making it the preferred alternate for larger-cabin aircraft and any operation where HTO's 2,250 ft paved strip creates payload or weather limitations. Several operators position turboprop and light jet fleets at FOK to serve the western Hamptons and North Fork markets.

Seasonality defines every operational decision. HTO slot congestion in July and August demands early PPR filing and coordination with local FBO handlers. Noise-sensitive community pressure limits certain departure windows and aircraft types. Positioning flights from TEB or FRG (Republic Airport, Farmingdale) are common when HTO is saturated. For year-round traffic — winter estate maintenance visits, shoulder-season gallery openings in East Hampton village, or Thanksgiving weekend movements — both airports are fully operational with reduced congestion and standard customs availability by prior arrangement.
