Tivat Airport (LYTV/TIV) occupies a narrow coastal strip on Kotor Bay in the Bay of Kotor, one of the most sheltered deep-water inlets on the Adriatic. The airport is Montenegro's busiest international gateway by seasonal traffic volume, absorbing the majority of private and charter movements driven by Porto Montenegro — the 450-berth superyacht marina and mixed-use resort developed on the former Yugoslav naval base. During the summer peak (June–September), the ramp handles a concentration of large-cabin bizjets and VIP airliners serving owners, crew, and guests of vessels berthed in the marina, as well as UHNWI traffic bound for private villa estates along the Luštica peninsula.

The airport operates between 06:00 and 23:00 local time with customs available throughout those hours. No slot coordination is required for private jets, making TIV operationally straightforward for same-day and short-notice positioning. The single runway 14/32 (2,500 m) accommodates aircraft up to the large-cabin category — Global 6000, Falcon 8X, and Gulfstream G550 all operate regularly during peak season. Terrain awareness is essential: the Orjen and Lovćen massifs rise sharply to the east and north, and the bay approach on runway 32 requires crew familiarity with the visual segment. Operators routinely brief for the bay approach and the noise-sensitive residential zones lining the shoreline.

Beyond the marina, the Tivat–Kotor–Budva triangle drives a distinctive blend of old-money and new-wealth demand. Kotor's UNESCO-listed medieval old town, Budva's nightlife infrastructure, and the emerging Luštica Bay resort development have established the Bay of Kotor as a rival to Monaco and the Côte d'Azur for July–August superyacht congregation. Corporately, the region attracts real estate investment conferences in spring and fall, and yacht show delegations in July and August. Flight planning for TIV should account for ramp congestion at peak periods; early morning or late evening slots typically offer smoother ground handling and faster block-in times.
