Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) functions as Bangladesh's sole international aviation hub, channelling corporate traffic between Dhaka and the Gulf states, Singapore, and regional South Asian capitals. The airport handles the vast majority of Bangladesh's inbound executive and diplomatic movements, and serves as the primary technical stop for ultra-long-range aircraft transiting between the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

DAC operates on two runways — the primary strip runs to approximately 3,200 metres (10,499 ft), accommodating heavy-category aircraft including the Gulfstream G650, Bombardier Global 7500, and wide-body types without payload restriction under standard conditions. Elevation sits at approximately 30 ft AMSL, making density altitude a non-factor across all aircraft categories year-round. A new terminal expansion, part of the third-terminal project managed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), is under active development and is expected to substantially upgrade passenger and cargo processing capacity. Current operations continue from the existing main terminal with dedicated general aviation handling available through prior coordination with the airport authority.

Dhaka city centre — specifically the Motijheel commercial district and the Gulshan diplomatic and business enclave — lies approximately 20 to 30 minutes from the airfield via the Airport Road corridor, subject to Dhaka's characteristic urban congestion; during peak hours, transfers can extend to 45 minutes or more. The Banani and Uttara business zones are closer, typically 10 to 15 minutes by road. For groups requiring tight ground logistics, helicopter positioning between DAC and other Bangladeshi cities such as Chittagong or Cox's Bazar is available via charter coordination. Customs and immigration are available on-site for international arrivals, though private jet crews should confirm clearance procedures and lead times with their handling agent prior to departure, as walk-up processing for non-scheduled general aviation movements requires advance notice. Operating hours are not continuous H24 — night-time curfew restrictions apply and should be confirmed with the designated handler for any planned late-night or early-morning block-in times. Slot coordination and PPR (prior permission required) apply for general aviation movements; operators should submit flight plans and handling requests no less than 48 hours in advance. Bangladesh imposes specific overflight and landing permit requirements for foreign-registered aircraft; permit processing through a recognised trip support provider is mandatory before departure.
