Malpensa operates two parallel runways — 35L/17R at 3,920m and 35R/17L at 3,700m — both capable of accommodating the full range of business aircraft including the Boeing BBJ, Airbus ACJ, Gulfstream G700, and Bombardier Global 7500 without payload penalty. Field elevation sits at 768 ft above MSL; density altitude is operationally irrelevant under standard conditions. ILS CAT III approaches on both runways ensure high dispatch reliability during the fog-intensive winter months in the Po Valley, when LIMC regularly records low-visibility procedures that ground traffic at lighter-equipped fields.

FBO & Ground Ops

The dedicated GA apron offers direct ramp access, with the VIP terminal physically separated from the commercial terminal complex. Catering is sourced from Milan-based providers capable of fulfilling same-day requests. Slot coordination at MXP is mandatory for IFR arrivals during peak Fashion Week and trade fair periods — operators should file slot requests via ACNL a minimum of 72 hours in advance during these windows. PPR is not required under standard conditions.

Executive Handling

Ground transfer options from MXP to Milan city center include the Malpensa Express rail service to Cadorna or Centrale stations (approximately 50 minutes), or by road via the A8 autostrada, typically 45–60 minutes to the Porta Nuova financial district depending on traffic.
