About the Beechcraft Beechjet 400

The Beechjet 400 has an unusual passport. It started as the Mitsubishi Diamond II, designed in Japan with a feature rare in light jets: a double-bubble fuselage cross-section that produced a genuinely flat cabin floor and near-vertical walls. Beech bought the programme in 1985 and put it into American production as the Beechjet 400 from 1987, and that Japanese-engineered cross-section remained its calling card — a square, stand-through-it cabin in a class where rivals made do with rounded tubes and sloping walls. It carries 6 passengers (up to 7) over 3,000 km at 950 km/h — among the faster light jets of its day. Around 15 serve European charter. The 400 is the airframe that brought a fundamentally roomier cabin shape to the light-jet class.

Performance Excellence

Two crew operate the Beechjet 400 across 3,000 km / 1,620 nm at up to 950 km/h (513 ktas) on Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D turbofans — quick for an early light jet. Around 15 examples serve European charter at roughly €3,800 per hour. Its case is the cross-section: the Mitsubishi-designed double-bubble fuselage that gave the class a flat floor and square walls, a shape so sound it underpinned the 400A, the 400XP and the Nextant remanufactures that all followed from this airframe.

Cabin Comfort

The Beechjet 400's cabin is defined by its geometry, not its size: at 4.97 m long, 1.37 m wide and 1.44 m tall, the dimensions are ordinary for a light jet, but the double-bubble fuselage makes them feel anything but. The flat floor runs the cabin's full length with no dropped aisle, and the near-vertical sidewalls mean shoulder and knee room are preserved right out to the seats rather than curving away. Six passengers in a club-four and pair sit in a cabin that feels squared-off and usable in a way round-tube rivals of the era never did. It is the original demonstration that cabin shape, not just cabin dimensions, determines how big a light jet feels inside.

High-speed WiFi keeps you connected throughout your flight, allowing you to work or stay in touch. A full galley enables fresh catering service during your journey. A private lavatory ensures comfort on longer flights.

Why Choose the Beechjet 400?

  • Efficiency: Optimized fuel consumption at — liters per hour
  • Reliability: Powered by proven jet engines
  • Flexibility: Access to smaller airports worldwide
  • Comfort: Pressurization altitude of 0 ft for a more comfortable cabin environment

Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, the Beechjet 400 delivers an exceptional private aviation experience.
