About the Beechcraft Beechjet 400A

The Beechjet 400A doesn't begin in Wichita — it begins in Nagoya. The airframe was conceived by Mitsubishi as the MU-300 Diamond, a clean-sheet light jet engineered to Japanese standards of fit and finish, before Beechcraft acquired the programme in the mid-1980s and made it the 400, then the refined 400A. What Beechcraft inherited was unusual for its class: a straight wing tuned for honest short-field manners and a fuselage with a near-square cross-section. Typically configured for 6 passengers (7 at most), it covers up to 3,000 km at a 956 km/h cruise and a 45,000 ft ceiling — a light jet carrying a heavier jet's pedigree.

Performance Excellence

Two crew operate the 400A across a 3,000 km / 1,620 nm range at up to 956 km/h (516 ktas), climbing to 45,000 ft. Baggage runs to 1.65 m³ and 200 kg, and roughly 30 examples remain in European charter service. At about €4,000 per hour, it is one of the most affordable ways to put six passengers in a flat-floor cabin — the Japanese-engineered light jet that quietly outlasted its rivals.

Cabin Comfort

Step inside and the Diamond DNA shows. Where most 1990s light jets tapered the cabin walls inward, the 400A keeps a square-section tube and a genuinely flat floor running the full 4.97 m length — so the 1.44 m of headroom and 1.37 m of width translate into real shoulder and foot room rather than numbers on a spec sheet. Six club seats plus two rest on that flat floor without the foot-well shuffle its rivals impose; an enclosed lavatory and a galley close out the 7.6 m³ cabin. Wi-Fi keeps the cabin connected on the one- to two-hour legs it flies best.

High-speed WiFi keeps you connected throughout your flight, allowing you to work or stay in touch. A full galley enables fresh catering service during your journey. A private lavatory ensures comfort on longer flights.
