About the Cessna Citation CJ

The CitationJet of 1993 was a clean-sheet replacement for the original Citation I, and it changed light aviation. Cessna gave it a new natural-laminar-flow wing, an EFIS glass cockpit, single-pilot certification — and, most significantly, made it the launch application of the Williams FJ44, a small, efficient turbofan that would go on to power a whole generation of light jets. Compact, economical and easy to fly, the CitationJet founded the CJ series, which became the best-selling business-jet family ever produced. Range is 1,852 km at 867 km/h. It carries 4 passengers, with around 20 in European charter. The CJ is where the most successful light-jet lineage in the world began — the small, clever aircraft that every CJ since has been built upon.

Performance Excellence

Flown by one or two crew, the CitationJet covers 1,852 km / 1,000 nm at up to 867 km/h (468 ktas) on Williams FJ44 turbofans — the engine's launch application, and the start of a whole class. Around 20 examples serve European charter at roughly €2,900 per hour. Its case is foundational: the single-pilot, glass-cockpit light jet that introduced the FJ44 engine and the natural-laminar-flow wing, and founded the CJ series — the best-selling business-jet family in history. It is where the most successful light-jet line began.

Cabin Comfort

The CitationJet's cabin is compact and clever — 3.35 m long, 1.42 m wide, 1.37 m tall — and its defining feature is the dropped aisle, a recessed centre walkway that gives the cabin more effective headroom than its external size suggests. Four passengers sit in a club arrangement that, for a small jet, feels surprisingly open thanks to that aisle and the bright, well-windowed fuselage. This was never a stand-up cabin, but it was designed with real thought for how four people actually use a short flight: comfortable seats, a usable layout, and the quiet of the efficient FJ44 engines. It is the cabin that set the template for the CJ family — small, efficient and more comfortable than its dimensions promise.

High-speed WiFi keeps you connected throughout your flight, allowing you to work or stay in touch. A full galley enables fresh catering service during your journey. A private lavatory ensures comfort on longer flights.

Why Choose the Citation CJ?

  • Efficiency: Optimized fuel consumption at — liters per hour
  • Reliability: Powered by proven jet engines
  • Flexibility: Access to major airports worldwide
  • Comfort: Pressurization altitude of 0 ft for a more comfortable cabin environment

Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, the Citation CJ delivers an exceptional private aviation experience.
