Cessna Citation CJ3 Private Jet Charter

About the Cessna Citation CJ3

By 2004 Cessna had built three generations of CitationJets and learned exactly what each customer wanted more of. The CJ3 was the answer. It stretched the fuselage 60 cm over the CJ2, fitted Williams FJ44-3A turbofans for an honest 887 km/h cruise and 3,052 km of range, and kept the single-pilot certification that defined the line. The result felt like the CJ Cessna had been building up to: enough cabin, enough range, enough speed, and none of the usual compromises that one of the three had previously taken. Around 60 serve European charter — the sweet-spot variant the family had been growing toward.

Performance

Flown by one or two crew, the CJ3 covers 3,052 km / 1,648 nm at up to 887 km/h (479 ktas) on Williams FJ44-3A power. A substantial 60 examples serve European charter at roughly €4,200 per hour. Light-jet running costs with a midsize-style cabin and certified for single-pilot operation, it is the CitationJet that found the middle of the family's three asks — and the variant whose proportions the CJ3+ later refined rather than reinvented.

Cabin

The CJ3's cabin is the CitationJet evolution that mattered most: 4.98 m long, 1.47 m wide, 1.47 m tall — enough length to give six passengers a proper double-club rather than a club-plus-pair, with an enclosed lavatory and a usable galley. The flat floor and Cessna's care for cabin altitude make even mid-length sectors feel composed, and the larger windows on this generation flood the cabin with light. It is the moment in the family when 'jet you can fly yourself' stopped feeling like a compromise and started feeling like a complete cabin.

Wi-Fi, where installed, lets you work or stay in touch during the flight. A full galley allows fresh catering on board. A private lavatory adds comfort on longer flights.
