About the Cessna Citation XLS

Cessna's Citation XLS is one of the great commercial successes of business aviation. Built on the Excel airframe with new Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545B engines and refined aerodynamics, the XLS combined a genuinely stand-up cabin — a near-class-unique feature in the midsize bracket — with the short-runway capability that lets it serve fields most midsize jets cannot. The result is an aircraft that pairs uncommon cabin comfort with uncommon airport access, at midsize operating costs. With around 80 in European service it is by some margin the most numerous midsize jet on the continent, the one a charter buyer is most likely to be offered and on which the segment is effectively benchmarked. Range is 3,441 km at 900 km/h. It carries 8 passengers (up to 9). The XLS is the value-and-comfort midsize that became the segment's default.

Performance Excellence

Two crew operate the Citation XLS across 3,441 km / 1,858 nm at up to 900 km/h (486 ktas) on Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545B turbofans, with the short-runway capability that opens up airports many rival midsize jets cannot use. Around 80 examples serve European charter at roughly €5,600 per hour — by far the largest midsize fleet in the region. Its case is the combination buyers find unbeatable: stand-up cabin, real short-field access, modern systems and abundant availability, at one of the most favourable cost-per-seat ratios in the midsize class. It is the practical default of European midsize charter.

Cabin Comfort

The Citation XLS's cabin is what made the model famous: 5.64 m long, 1.68 m wide, and — crucially — 1.73 m tall, full stand-up height through the entire cabin and a rarity in the midsize class. Eight passengers in a club-four and pair walk in and around the cabin upright, settle into well-proportioned seats and enjoy real shoulder room thanks to the wider fuselage Cessna fitted on the Excel platform. The forward galley supports proper meal service, the aft lavatory is enclosed, and the cabin is brightly windowed throughout. For passengers stepping in from a more cramped light jet, the XLS feels like a quiet revelation — and being so common on European charter, that experience is one many travellers actually have.

High-speed WiFi keeps you connected throughout your flight, allowing you to work or stay in touch. A full galley enables fresh catering service during your journey. A private lavatory ensures comfort on longer flights.
