About the Cessna Citation SII

The early Citations were famously, affectionately slow — and the S/II is Cessna's direct answer to that reputation. The "S" denotes the most significant change: an entirely new wing using a natural-laminar-flow aerofoil, a more advanced design that produced less drag and more lift than the original straight wing. The result was a Citation II that climbed faster, cruised quicker at 857 km/h, and used runways more efficiently — a meaningful step up in performance from a careful aerodynamic redesign. The wing was good enough that the US Navy adopted the type as the T-47A radar-systems trainer. It carries 6 passengers (up to 7) over 2,520 km, with around 12 in European charter. The S/II is the straight-wing Citation made genuinely quick.

Performance Excellence

Flown by one or two crew, the Citation S/II covers 2,520 km / 1,360 nm at up to 857 km/h (463 ktas) on Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D-4B turbofans, the natural-laminar-flow wing delivering the speed and climb the early Citations lacked. Around 12 examples serve European charter at roughly €3,600 per hour. Its case is the wing: a genuine aerodynamic upgrade that made the S/II meaningfully faster and more efficient than the standard Citation II, and capable enough that the US Navy chose it as a systems trainer. It is the performance answer in the straight-wing Citation line.

Cabin Comfort

The S/II's cabin keeps the Citation II's proven dimensions — 4.93 m long, 1.49 m wide, 1.44 m tall — but the new wing changes the experience in the air. The cleaner laminar-flow aerofoil lets the aircraft reach its cruising altitude faster and fly more efficiently once there, so passengers spend less time in the lower, busier air and get to smooth high cruise sooner. The improved aerodynamics also trim the airframe's drag-related noise, making the cabin a little quieter at speed than the standard II. Six passengers in a club-four and pair get the same practical, daylit interior the Citation II is known for, now delivered on a faster, more efficient flight profile — comfort unchanged, but the journey noticeably brisker.

High-speed WiFi keeps you connected throughout your flight, allowing you to work or stay in touch. A full galley enables fresh catering service during your journey. A private lavatory ensures comfort on longer flights.
